Ángela García de Paredes (Madrid 1958) is architect by ETSAM since1982 and PhD Doctoral Award UPM in 2015. She is professor at the Architectural Design Department in Madrid ETSAM, visiting professor in other universities as the IUAV in Venice (2013, 2015, 2017) and critic and lecturer in GSD Harvard, ETH Zurich, UDK in Berlin, among others.
Together with Ignacio Pedrosa they established the architectural firm PAREDES PEDROSA in1990. Their work has been awarded with the Spain Fine Arts Gold Medal 2014, Eduardo Torroja Award 2014 and the Spain Architecture award 2007. Other prizes for built work include the European Award for Architectural Heritage AADIPA 2015, Gold Medal International Prize for Sustainable Architecture 2012, 5 COAM awards, 2 ASCER awards, AR award for Emerging Architecture 1999.
Europan award in 1996 and 1991. Built works include specific interventions in heritage as Olmeda Roman Villa and Ceuta Public Library and other cultural buildings as Valle Inclán Theatre in Madrid, Almería Archaeological Museum, Peñíscola Congress Centre, Lugo Auditorium and Córdoba Public Library. Projects in process are the Spanish School in Rabat and the Visigoth Museum in Mérida.
Awarded works in Spain Architecture Biennale in 2018, 2011, 2007, 2003 and 1999 and in the Iberoamerican Architecture Biennale 2010, 2008 and 2000. Invited to Venice Biennale in 2018, 2012 and 2000. Curators of the Spain Pavilion in 1996 Venice Biennale and in the Iberoamerican Biennale in 2012 and 2016.
Monograph exhibitions in 2013 in Lisbon and Porto: Their work is shown actually in the Freespace exhibition in Venice Biennale.
