Blanca Lle\u00f3 is Chair Professor of Architectural Projects at the Higher Technical School of Architecture of the Polytechnic University of Madrid. She has also been Visiting Researcher at the Cambridge University (UK) and the Princeton University (USA), and Visiting Professor at the Rhode Island School of Design, the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the Universidad Nacional de Colombia in Medellin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Her most relevant projects include the Nules Lighthouse, the Lorca Town Hall, the Jaen Prison, the Salinas Park in Cadiz, the library-bus \u201cBibliobus\u201d, the Mirador Building and the Celosia Building with MVRDV, the Mare de D\u00e9u Building in Barcelona, urban projects in the historical centers of Toledo and Sitges, and the curatorship of several exhibitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Blanca Lle\u00f3 was awarded by the Madrid Municipality with the Prize of the Spanish Biennial in Architecture. She also won the Endesa Prize of Sustainable Architecture and was selected for the Mies van der Rohe European Prize. Her list of awards is completed with many other prizes in national architecture competitions in Madrid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Her recent work \u201cLive a hundred years. Longevity and future city\u201d with the Tokyo University won the Research Prize in the 2016 edition of the Spanish Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism. Her research on modern and contemporary housing is compiled in books such as \u201cInforme Habitar\u201d and \u201cSue\u00f1o de Habitar\u201d which was awarded the Extraordinary Prize for Doctoral Thesis at the Polytechnic University of Madrid, the 1st<\/sup> Award in the Arquithesis Competition by Caja de Arquitectos, the 1st<\/sup>Award by the Madrid Chamber of Architects and the Ibero-American Biennial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Blanca Lle\u00f3 has exhibited her works in the Biennale di Venezia, the New York MoMA, the Tokio Design Week, the Berliner Aedes Galery, the 2010 Shanghai Exhibition, the Londoner RIBA, and the Spanish Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism. Her works not only professional but research ones have published by relevant Spanish and international publishers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n She has lectured in conferences and seminars in GSD Harvard University, GSAPP Columbia University, the Tokio University, the Seoul National University, the Universit\u00e0 di Venezia, the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, the Instituto Cervantes and many other universities and institutions all over the world. She is member of the National Commission for the Assessment of the Research Activity (CNEAI) and patron of the National Museum of Architecture. She has been member of the Board of Caja de Arquitectos and patron of its Foundation.
